| I finally got around to hooking up the Tach and got it working. Im not sure how accurate it its though. it says it idles at 1K-1.5K and from the sound of the motor it reves out at 4K. Do you think that is about right for my 1641cc?
Thanks |

| My 1641 idles around 900 RPM.
Does your tach needle bounce around? Mine did and was really bad at higher RPMs, it would bounce between 2800 and 3500 while on the freeway.
I had to put a diode between the coil and the tach. Once I did that, the tach smoothed out and was dead on with the timing light RPM reading.
Oh, and I have wound mine up to around 5500RPM...

| It looks smooth all the way up, haven't tried it above 2nd gear. Its raining so when it stops ill drive it more. I have never owned one with a tach so just didn't know how high they rev. Its always been biased on the sound and i think i need to ride with some one else to see how high they rev. Im thinking my tach is accurate biased on your statement. |

| That's cool Nick. It sounds like it pretty close if not totally accurate. |

| Sounds about right. I know stock motors kind of top out at like 4500. |
