I craw under my car do a couple of turns on the torsion bar an wham lowered. This this (my bug) is driving me nuts. Its an older adjustable drop front end I am guessing. 19 mm nut with a allen stud on the bottom and the same set up horizontally. On both the top and bottom tube. I loosen the locking 19mm and back off the allen, both top and bottom. Play around with the horizontal set up. I raised the car and put the front wheels on blocks so I can watch the action and nothing. It looks like Spencers car.

I played with it maybe I have to drive it and it will settle down.

I will go check on Don and see it he is alright, poor guy another year older.

maybe he should call 1 888 GET- A TURBO

Are you bottoming out on the shocks? I've got dual adjusters on the '70, and it don't take many turns for it to move up or down.

First thing.. do NOT adjust the nut/bolt going into the beam.. that is holding the torsion bars in place.

When I lower.. I leave the car on the ground and turn the vertical nut/bolt out till I am happy with it.
When I lift.. I jack up the car and do the opposite.

A quarter inch on the bolts (top and bottom) is around an inch on the wheels.

It is not backwards, screw out drop screw up raise. My money is on Eric, shocks bottoming out. Rolling Eyes

Sorry, my internet died in the middle of our chat last night. Brad's right, just loosen the jam nut on the torsion bar pinch screw. Back out the adjusting screw to lower.

I bet it is the shocks. I got a set for a lowered bug at a swap meet in a bulk buy.

Looking at the front end maybe I did drop it. If I go much lower my big 7inch rims may rub.

For the narrowed beam it is.

For just and adjustable.. I guess if you don't want to do it. The adjusters will run you 30 to 50 bucks for both.. then weld them in.

That's the adjusters I've used. They're $12.95 each from CIP1. His price isn't bad if you don't want to do it yourself. Check the beam with a straight-edge before you buy it 'tho. Unless they're built in a jig, it's really hard to put a beam back together straight. Just my two cents....
